As if it weren’t bad enough that Erika Jayne cussed at her 14-year-old son Jax, Garcelle is now learning that several of her co-stars, including Kyle Richards, Mauricio Umansky, Dorit Kemsley, and Paul “PK” Kemsley, were quite amused at the shockingly offensive behavior.
“Did you know Kyle, Mauricio, Dorit, [and] PK had this conversation laughing off the appalling way Erika spoke to your child or did you learn this watching the episode?” a fan on Twitter asked Garcelle on July 4, along with a clip of the moment in which her co-stars reacted to Erika telling Jax to “get the f-ck out” of Garcelle’s birthday party.
“Nope never saw this scene until now,” Garcelle replied, along with an angry-faced emoji.
During the RHOBH scene in question, Kyle brought up Erika’s behavior to her co-stars.
“You guys, did you miss what Erika said to Garcelle’s son, the 14-year-old, to go f-ck off? I mean, it’s not funny. But it is funny,” Kyle said. Her husband Mauricio added, “It’s great that she did that.”
Kyle also said she appreciated seeing a “more relaxed side” of Erika, and Dorit agreed.
“It’s really why I can give a major pass, of course, it’s not my child so she had a few drinks. She doesn’t get like that. I don’t think I can ever remember a time she was that loose and free,” Dorit noted.
Even PK weighed in on the topic, telling his castmates that Erika was “entitled” to the blowout before joking that Erika “tried to bang” Garcelle’s oldest son, Oliver Saunders.
In another tweet, Garcelle reacted to a fan who applauded Oliver for the way he handled Erika’s flirtations.
“Oliver handled himself impressively under the circumstances,” the fan had stated.
“Agree,” Garcelle responded.
Amid the drama, Kyle, who commented on Instagram, saying she was laughing at Erika’s “ridiculous behavior,” not her disrespect of Garcelle’s young son, Kyle explained to Metro.co.uk that she she didn’t see Erika yelling and cussing at Jax.
“I was told the next day,” she revealed. “I was laughing at a friend’s drunken behavior as one does sometimes. Nothing to do with disrespecting anyone’s child especially. I’m a mom of four daughters. I think if I had obviously seen it – because I only saw it actually last night on Instagram, that clip – I would have a different reaction.”
According to Kyle, she sometimes laughs “at the wrong moments.” But, when it came to the amusement she displayed over Erika’s behavior in the preview clip, she insisted she was not laughing at Garcelle and her son.
“It was about Erika,” she continued. “When you’re not used to seeing that, you hear a story the next day… we laughed, it was like that. To think that someone misinterpreted it as that, that I didn’t care and being flippant about someone’s child… I would hope that after 12 years on this show [that] people know me better.”
As for whether or not she’s reached out to Garcelle with an apology, Kyle confirmed she has not, citing the time difference between London and Los Angeles.
“Actually no, because I’m in London. I don’t know what time [it is], it’s 2 a.m. or something right now, I’m not even sure. But that’s my plan, in between interviews today, to send her a text,” Kyle shared.
Kyle went on to say that while it was “refreshing to see” Erika loosen up at first, things went “a little too far.”
“Then it wasn’t so appealing anymore,” she concluded.
