Nevada police arrested 41-year-old Troy Driver on Friday in connection to the disappearance of 18-year-old Naomi Irion.
Driver is being held on kidnapping charges after he allegedly approached Irion’s car in a Fernley Walmart parking lot around 5:00 a.m. on March 12, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said.
Surveillance footage shows Driver lurking near Irion’s 1992 Mercury Sable before getting inside and driving off. Officials found Irion’s car unattended at an industrial park near Walmart on March 15.
Police said Driver’s truck has been impounded and taken into evidence.
Irion’s whereabouts are still unknown as of Driver’s arrest. Phone records show she was active on social media and received a Snapchat minutes before her disappearance.
Irion’s mom told WAGM 8 that she was waiting for a shuttle to her job at Panasonic which usually arrives between 5:30 a.m. and 5:40 a.m.
“This is still a very active investigation,” Lyon County Sheriff Frank Hunewill said on March 25. “More information will be released as it becomes available. Naomi has still not been located and we are continuing to search for her and information.
