10 MCU Characters Most Likely To Appear In Moon Knight

The MCU’s Moon Knight will add a new dimension to the franchise, but like all things Marvel, Moon Knight is deeply connected to other aspects of the Marvel Universe. Moon Knight has significant ties to major and minor characters in the comics, and will likely have connections to them in the MCU as well. Some of those characters could appear in the course of the new streaming series.

Moon Knight has been a solo hero for many decades but has been involved in major teams in Marvel Comics including West Coast Avengers, the Avengers, and the Midnight Sons. That could mean that a vast array of characters from the MCU may appear in the series, including characters from other Marvel movie franchises that are now on the table thanks to the multiverse.

Hawkeye

Jeremy Renner in Hawkeye

While the future of Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye is unclear at the moment, the next step for the character, if he continues in the MCU, could be in Moon Knight. Clint Barton could appear in the series to recruit Marc Spector into a new iteration of the Avengers.

Moon Knight joined the West Coast Avengers in issue #21 of the first volume of that series from the 1980s and is easily a character who could join the MCU version of the team should it come together, and there is plenty of reason to think it will.

White Vision

The White Vision in WandaVision

The White Vision first appeared in the Vision Quest storyline from West Coast Avengers and is now part of the MCU. He left Westview for parts unknown at the end of WandaVision, but he could potentially find his way into Moon Knight.

The Vision’s quest to understand himself and his past could lead him to London and perhaps an encounter with Marc Spector, or he could be manipulated into crossing paths with him by other forces, depending on how the plot unfolds in the streaming series.

Batroc The Leaper

Marc Spector is a mercenary before he becomes Moon Knight. The timeline and the backstory of Moon Knight are unclear from the first trailer, but it’s possible that Spector crossed paths with Batroc The Leaper, one of Captain America’s most powerful villains.

Batroc is dead in the MCU, a victim of the Power Broker and his own greed at the end of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier. But flashbacks or a fluid timeline in Moon Knight – already indicated in the trailer – could allow the character a brief reprise.

The Power Broker

Batroc’s killer in the MCU stands a great chance of appearing in the series. Moon Knight has always dealt with international crime in the comics and likely will in live-action. That could lead him into a confrontation with the Power Broker, who is one of the biggest players in the criminal underworld.

The MCU presented a twist on the Power Broker from the comics by making her Sharon Carter, a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. It’s clear Carter will continue to be a part of the MCU, and she could appear in the course of Moon Knight.

The Contessa

Another major figure in the MCU who could play a role is The Contessa. So far, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine is a very mysterious figure, recruiting John Walker and Yelena Belova for a reason yet to be revealed. Moon Knight could be her next target.

The Contessa’s statement to John Walker that “things are about to get weird” could evidence a number of different things. One thing is for certain; she’s interested in characters on the margins, and Moon Knight is a prime example of that in the comics and now the MCU.

Doctor Strange

Stephen Strange prepares to fight in the New York Sanctum in Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange and Moon Knight have a connection in Marvel Comics through the Midnight Sons, a group of superheroes dedicated to fighting supernatural threats. This team seems to be coming together in the MCU with Moon Knight and other characters like Blade.

They also share an intriguing connection through the multiverse. Marc Spector: Moon Knight #42 is actually titled “Multiverse Madness” and features Moon Knight meeting variants of himself throughout the multiverse in the comics. It’s interesting that the Moon Knight series will overlap with the debut of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness in May.

Wong

Benedict Wong in Shang-Chi

Another mystical character who could appear in the series is Wong. Wong was seen in Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings recruiting Shang-Chi and Katy into the larger world of the Avengers. As the new Sorcerer Supreme, he may also bring Moon Knight into the fold.

The mystical aspect of Moon Knight, through his connection to the Egyptian magical deity of Khonshu, could very easily draw in other magical characters. As one of the most powerful magicians in the Marvel Universe, Wong could easily be one of them.

Dane Whitman

A new MCU character who could appear in the upcoming series is Dane Whitman. Dane Whitman works at a museum in London, as established in Eternals, and could very easily be drawn into the mystery of Khonshu and ancient Egypt in Moon Knight.

Whitman also has his own mystical connection. In the comics, he is the Black Knight, a superhero whose powers derive from the Ebony Blade, a mystical weapon that is so powerful it’s already drawn the attention of another major Marvel character.

Blade

Blade Marvel MCU

The mid-credits scene of Eternals introduced Blade for the first time to the MCU, though only as an off-screen voice. He had a clear interest in Dane Whitman and the Ebony Blade, and is likely to have a similar interest in Moon Knight.

Blade is famous in the comics and movies as a vampire hunter, and he is connected to Moon Knight in the comics through the Midnight Sons. Blade could be forming this team in the MCU as well, including Dane, Marc Spector, and others.

Apocalypse

X-Men Apocalypse Trailer Oscar Isaac

Oscar Issac has already played a Marvel character in a movie, and an outside-the-box choice to appear in the series is Apocalypse. Issac played the human version of En Sabah Nur in X-Men: Apocalypse and thanks to the multiverse, everything is on the table in the MCU.

A cameo by Apocalypse could be intriguing if the series flashes back to ancient Egypt. Issac is unlikely to play Apocalypse again in the MCU, but a brief cameo of his human form would be a fun Easter egg for fans, especially if it gets involved in the multiverse thanks to a possible connection to Doctor Strange.
