Big Brother’s Alyssa Lopez can see herself having a future with her former showmance partner Christian Birkenberger. They plan on doing long distance.
Big Brother 23‘s Alyssa Lopez is hoping for a future with her former showmance partner Christian Birkenberger. The duo was split up when Christian was back-doored by Derek Xiao during week 5 of the game. Christian was the last houseguest to be evicted prior to the start of jury. Alyssa was the most recent houseguest to be sent to the jury house. She was sent out the door during the double eviction on Thursday night with a vote of 3-1.
Christian and Alyssa became very close early on in the game. On night one, Christian had picked Alyssa along with Sarah Beth Steagall and Xavier Prather to be a part of his Kings’ team. Christian and Alyssa quickly formed a showmance together; however, it was better for their game to distance themselves from each other. Upon returning home Christian has been tuning into the show as well as the live feeds as he continued to root Alyssa on from home.
Since the duo was split up, it has been quite obvious to live feed viewers that Christian has remained on Alyssa’s mind. So what happens now for the two? Well, in an interview with EW, Alyssa opened up about her thoughts and feelings towards Christian. Alyssa was asked what she believes her future with Christian holds. In a vague response to the question, Alyssa admitted, “I will say I do hope to see a future with Christian.” Initially, Alyssa started her response by explaining that she “hate[s] talking about [her] feeling;” however, prior to Christian’s eviction the two had talked about the details of their showmance as well as where it may go after the show.
Alyssa continued on to describe herself as a “robot” due to her inability to openly discuss her emotions and feelings. While inside the Big Brother house she and Christian had discussed the potential of having a long-distanced relationship once the show comes to an end. Alyssa resides in Sarasota, Florida, while Christian is from Harwinton, Connecticut. Alyssa concluded her response by adding, “I’m definitely more open to figuring that out outside the house.” Although she does not necessarily know where Christian’s “head is at” now that he has returned to reality, Alyssa will be pleasantly surprised when she learns how much he has been supporting and praising her online.
In just a few short weeks, Alyssa too will return to reality. Then, she and Christian will be able to reunite and decide where they want to take their relationship. Until then, Alyssa is headed to the jury house to join Britini D’Angelo, Sarah Beth Steagall, Derek Xiao and Claire Rehfuss. The group will continue to unwind while also piecing together factors of the season to determine which remaining houseguest will be the most deserving of the $750K grand prize.
Big Brother 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm EST on CBS.
