Travis Scott forgot to thank his girlfriend Kylie Jenner in his VMAs acceptance speech. The rapper won an award for best hip hop video.
During Travis Scott’s VMAs speech on Sunday, September 12, he didn’t thank his girlfriend and former Keeping With the Kardashians star Kylie Jenner. The couple began their relationship in April 2017 after they were spotted hanging out at the Coachella Music Festival. After only a month of dating, Kylie found out she was pregnant with their first child. In February 2018, Kylie gave birth to their daughter Stormi Webster. Since welcoming Stormi, the pair’s relationship has been very hot and cold.
In fact, Kylie and Travis broke up in September 2019 after more than two years together. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic caused the whole world to go into lockdown, Kylie and Travis decided to quarantine together for the sake of their daughter, who was two years old at the time. After living together for so many months, they rekindled their romance and resumed their relationship. As a result of their revived romance, the couple is now expecting their second child together.
On Sunday, the rapper failed to thank Kylie while accepting an award at the VMAs (via Page Six). “I first want to thank God, my mom, Stormi, all the amazing fans out there,” the 30-year-old said to the crowd. Travis, who is thrilled for baby number two, added, “I love y’all so much. Couldn’t do it without y’all. to my label, Cactus Jack [Records], I love y’all so much.” Fans noticed Travis left the 24-year-old out of his acceptance speech and opted to talk about the importance of love instead. “Before I go I just want to tell y’all, love is the biggest thing that we can ever hold,” he explained, adding, “Spread love and everything will be OK.” Travis gave his speech after he was given the award for best hip hop video for his song, “Franchise.”
The acceptance speech took place a few hours after it was revealed that Kylie would not be walking the VMAs red carpet with Travis. In fact, the beauty mogul skipped the event altogether. If Kylie did join Travis at the event, it would have been the first red carpet appearance Kylie made since she announced she was expecting her second child. Kylie confirmed the pregnancy news on Instagram by sharing a positive pregnancy test. The mother of one began showing off her baby bump last week while making the rounds in New York City for fashion week.
Even though Travis did not thank the former Keeping With the Kardashians in his VMAs speech, it seems the couple is still very much together. Clearly, it was a lapse in judgment, and it slipped the rapper’s mind. Hopefully, Kylie isn’t too mad the father of her children forgot to thank her.
