Despite Kim Kardashian’s ongoing divorce drama with Kanye West, The Kardashians star won’t criticize her ex-husband on her new Hulu show. On the heels of Kim being declared legally single, she is gearing up to release her family’s new reality show. While promoting the new series, Kim was asked about her third ex-husband and if she will speak candidly about their marital woes. But Kim will continue to take the high road and avoid bad-mouthing the father of her four kids.
Kim and Kanye haven’t been on the best of terms while working to finalize their divorce. The rap/fashion mogul became more vocal about the split after Kim started dating Pete Davidson. Kanye used interviews, social media, live performances, and his music to let the world know that he wants Kim back. Despite dating various women since Kim’s divorce filing, Kanye took issue with Kim moving on with Pete. The SKIMS founder cited Kanye’s erratic social media posts in her recent legal filing saying his online antics caused her “emotional distress.”
Now, as Kim’s new show inches closer to its April premiere, fans are wondering if the mother of four will be transparent about their ongoing divorce. “I don’t think I would ever criticize the father of my children on my TV show,” she told Variety. “That’s just not really what I’m about, and I just don’t think that would ever make me feel good.” While Kanye has put much of their drama on public display via his Instagram, Kim still chooses to keep their marital drama private. “Being in the public eye and having disagreements publicly is never easy,” she said. “But I do believe in handling it all privately. I believe in championing publicly and criticizing privately.” With four children who are getting bigger every day, one day they will be able to look back on their parents’ high-profile divorce and see all the public spectacle it turned into. It’s because of this why Kim chooses to continue speaking highly of Kanye in public despite his constant attacks against her boyfriend Pete.
Kim and Kanye still have four children to co-parent after the split. They share 8-year-old daughter North, 6-year-old son Saint, 4-year-old daughter Chicago, and 2-year-old son Psalm. Kim says no matter what happens, Kanye will always be her family. “I’m always really respectful of what the kids will see,” she said. “The reality is, we’re always a family.” The history between Kim and Kanye will help them maintain a level of “love and respect for each other,” she adds. Despite what it might look like from an outside perspective, Kim says “there are so many moments that are super positive.” Kanye did purchase a home directly across the street from Kim and the kids to ensure he can still spend quality time with them after the divorce is finalized. While things might be rocky now, Kim believes they will take a turn for the better in the future. “I do think it’s important for people to see that things aren’t perfect all the time, but that they can get better,” Kim said.
However, it’s worth noting that Kim did shoot scenes for the show prior to things going sour between her and Kanye in recent months. Kanye’s latest attack came in the form of a music video where he used animated claymation to bury Pete alive. Kim and The Kardashians family are reportedly “disgusted” by the visual. But there’s nothing they can do to stop Kanye from expressing himself through his “art,” as he said in a statement. Kanye might be having a hard time coming to terms with his divorce. With it being Kim’s third, it’s nothing she’s a stranger to. Fans will get a chance to see what she has been up to when the new show premieres next month.
