Monique Samuels had a tough year before leaving The Real Housewives of Potomac season 5. Now fans are wondering what she’s up to today?
Monique Samuels left after four seasons on The Real Housewives of Potomac and has been living a busy life since. Viewers met Monique for the first time when she was introduced as a new full-time housewife in season 2. She immediately was disliked by original RHOP castmate Gizelle Bryant, which took the other ladies a while to warm up to Monique too. However, Monique prevailed and was able to form some close connections with the women.
During her time on the Bravo series, Monique was a polarizing character. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get on Gizelle or Robyn Dixon’s good side. Despite her close friendship with Karen Huger and Candiace Dillard-Bassett during most of her time on RHOP, Monique felt like she was in fight-or-flight mode. After her physical altercation with Candiace during season 5, the cast turned against Monique, and so did Candiace, her former close ally. Shortly after the reunion for RHOP season 5, Monique announced her departure and clearly hasn’t looked back since.
Since leaving RHOP, Monique has been thriving on a new reality show and with her several businesses. As mentioned prior, during her time on RHOP, Monique still sells her oils, Mila Eve Essentials. The brand markets essential oils that are designed to provide a variety of benefits (via Mila Eve Essentials). The benefits of these oils include enhancing one’s physical and spiritual wellness, amplifying positivity, improving one’s emotional well-being, and can even help redefine a health routine. Some of the additional products on Monique’s site other than essential oils include massage oils, bath salts, and even skincare. Besides her essential oils brand, Monique is still working on her Not For Lazy Mom’s podcast. The radio show features Monique talking about motherhood and how everyone deals with it, along with relationships, careers, and self-care.
Even though Monique was asked to appear on RHUGT, she decided it wasn’t the right move for her at the time. Despite wanting to take some time away from reality TV, Monique did make her comeback earlier this year. In May, it was announced that the former RHOP star would be appearing in the new OWN series, Love & Marriage: DC, alongside her husband, Chris Samuels. The series focuses on them and other successful couples as they navigate their business endeavors, personal lives, and friendships in the D.C., Virginia, and Maryland area. Monique exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that she feels this new series “was meant for” her since it focuses on love and marriage. “That was my reason for coming to reality TV. The platform that I was previously on — it didn’t really fit with that dynamic,” she added.
Since leaving The Real Housewives of Potomac almost two years ago, Monique has been thriving away from the Bravo camera. Not only are her businesses thriving, but she had a new show alongside her husband. It seems Monique is only doing better since making her exit.
