Which Phase 4 MCU Villain Would You Be, Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Content Warning: The following article contains spoilers for the Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder.

Although Thor: Love and Thunder has divided critics, one thing that has united almost all MCU fans is the excellent villain Gorr the God Butcher, whom many said they wanted to see more of. Gorr is just the highlight of a new generation of MCU villains that are fascinating and compelling to watch.

That’s why it’s interesting to see how their personalities match up to the different signs of the Zodiac. Thanks to their distinctive characters, they all have a strong affinity with an astrological sign and this is how they line up.

Aries – He Who Remains/Kang The Conqueror

Loki Episode 6 Kang Pours Tea

A sign that’s all about being independent and trailblazing, there’s no villain more suited to Aries than the version of Kang that appears in Loki. Not only is he making his own way in the universe, he actually makes his very own timeline that perfectly suits his deep desire to rule.

Another important feature of Aries is passion, something that can make for very charismatic, if not necessarily moral, characters and it’s clear that Kang is one of these. Aries are often the center of attention and Kang may well be again in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Taurus  – Wilson Fisk/Kingpin

Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin in Hawkeye

Though it would be easy to associate Kingpin with Taurus, the sign of the bull, because of his overwhelming strength, the connection runs a lot deeper than that. In fact, Taurus is a sign also associated with intelligence and ambition, which is a perfect match with the ruthless criminal mastermind.

People in the Taurus sign often end up becoming anchors for others, which is similar to how people like Maya come to see the crime boss as someone they can rely on, despite his manipulative ways. It’s these traits that make Fisk one of the best Phase 4 MCU villains.

Gemini – Agatha Harkness

WandaVision Episode 8 Agatha Harkness Flying

Geminis are known as great communicators, often having a knack for blending in wherever they go. Agatha Harkness exemplifies how powerful this knack can be in the wrong hands, as she manages to evade Wanda’s suspicions while wreaking havoc in her world.

Her intelligence is also evident in how she’s quickly able to concoct ingenious plans like getting close to Wanda without revealing herself and ultimately trying to take over her powers. An incredibly powerful character in the MCU, Agatha shows Geminis aren’t to be underestimated.

Cancer – The Mandarin/Xu Wenwu

Tony Leung as Wenwu the Mandarin Shang-Chi

Ultimately proving to be more of a tragic character than a villainous one, Wenwu’s only mistake that led to the events of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was that he let his heart rule over his head. Cancer is a sign ruled by emotions and when Wenwu chooses to believe Li is calling to him from Ta Lo, he shows that he’s the same.

Of course, in this case, his emotions were being used against him. What saves him from becoming a true villain is another trait strongly associated with the Cancer sign, and that’s the resilience he shows once he realizes he’s been fooled and needs to put his faith in Shang-Chi.

Leo – Karli Morgenthau

Karli Morgenthau

Leo is a sign known for having natural leaders, people so bold and courageous that they can convince others to follow them to the ends of the earth. Not only does Karli manage to inspire this level of loyalty as leader of the Flag Smashers but she manages to do so from a young age.

What makes Leos such great leaders is that, when they have a goal, they are committed to it 100% and almost nothing will slow them down at that point. This seems to be the case as, guided by her strong sense of justice that is an important foundation of the sign, Karli races down a dark path.

Virgo – Arishem

Eternals Arishem the Judge

While several signs are renowned for intelligence, it’s their adeptness at big-picture thinking that often sets Virgos apart from the crowd. As the Prime Celestial who brought life to the universe, it’s clear that Arishem has always been operating at a higher level than anyone else.

Though he treated humans as expendable “lower life forms”, it’s only because Arishem is a being so wrapped up in his own massive plan that he ends up making horrible oversights like this. More positively, his desire to improve the universe is also a very Virgo trait.

Libra – Gorr The God Butcher

Gorr the God Butcher in Thor Love and Thunder

As a sign defined by aspects like kindness and selflessness, it’s surprising that any villain could be associated with Libra but, luckily, Gorr the God Butcher surprised everyone in Thor: Love and Thunder with an arc defined by his love for his daughter and desire for a better world.

Though the Necrosword twists these into negative emotions as it helps him wage a war on the gods, whom he sees as cruel and uncaring, he ultimately ends up making the selfless choice to resurrect his daughter when it matters. Gorr will likely be remembered as an incredibly powerful antagonist but it’s clear there’s more to him than that.

Scorpio – Maya Lopez

Hawkeye Echo Maya Lopez

Passionate and driven, Maya Lopez is perfectly suited to Scorpio as shown in her quest to avenge her father in Hawkeye. Scorpio is often thought of as a sign that isn’t afraid of conflict and, likewise, Maya is always up for a fight, easily holding her own against Hawkeye.

It’s also a sign that values honesty above all, which is why the realization that she’s been lied to and manipulated by Kingpin hits home all the more. Of course, it’s her healthy lack of respect for authority and willingness to question everything that allows her to come to this conclusion in the first place.

Sagittarius – Arthur Harrow

Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow

Typical of a Sagittarius, when Arthur Harrow puts his mind to something, it’s basically guaranteed to come to fruition. A born leader too, once he sets his mind to resurrecting Ammit, it’s not long before he forms a cult of followers.

Sagittarius is a sign associated with open-mindedness and independence. Harrow simply shows the dark side of these as he turns his back on Khonshu, making a choice not many would dare to make, and puts into motion an ambitious plan that he’s convinced is right.

Capricorn – General Dreykov

Though no one could defend Dreykov’s actions in Black Widow as he does some of the worst things a parent has done in the MCU, it is impossible to deny that the Soviet general isn’t intelligent and a hard worker. These aren’t the only positive Capricorn-like traits that Dreykov twists in dark ways.

While Capricorns often like to be fully in control of their lives and their destiny, Dreykov extends that even further into wanting to control other people, essentially removing the free will of everyone around him including even his own daughter.

Aquarius – Ultron

Aquarius is an enigmatic sign and, similarly, it’s hard to know what to make of Ultron in the animated What If…? series. Rather than being the slightly more thoughtful version of the being from Age of Ultron, he seems completely driven by a single malevolent goal.

Though it’s hard to discern any sense of humanity from this, there is a connection to be made between this and the action-focused nature of Aquarius. The uncompromising Ultron of What If…? is just this impulsive nature taken to the absolute extreme.

Pisces – Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch

Wanda Maximoff Scarlet Witch Arc

While Wanda can embody the best traits of the Pisces sign at times, being creative and having an incredibly deep love for her children, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees her at her very lowest. However, even then, her maliciousness comes from her heartfelt desire to be reunited with them.

Unfortunately, Wanda also has the Pisces trait of often finding herself lost in her own head, whether using it to escape reality or using it to ignore the horrors she’s committing in the name of getting her children back.
