Sleep Apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder characterized by repeated airway collapse during sleep. Shockingly, 80% of people with sleep  in the United States remain undiagnosed, as reported in the “American Journal of Epidemiology.”

According to experts from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), most adults should aim for at least seven hours of uninterrupted sleep each night. However, for those with untreated sleep , achieving healthy sleep can be challenging. Episodes of airway obstruction or collapse can lead to brief awakenings characterized by snoring or gasping for air, disrupting sleep patterns.

Left untreated, sleep  can contribute to severe health issues such as hypertension, heart disease, stroke, Type 2 diabetes, and depression. It can also significantly impact overall quality of life, causing mood swings, reduced work productivity, difficulty concentrating, impaired decision-making, and an increased risk of accidents due to daytime sleepiness.
