A few weeks ago, Sparks rookie sensation Cameron Brink suffered a torn ACL, sidelining her for the remainder of the 2024 WNBA season and the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she was set to play for Team USA’s women’s 3×3 team. Her teammate, Hamby, will replace her on the Olympic roster.
Before the Sparks-Aces matchup, Brink made her first public appearance since her injury, drawing attention with her outfit. Fans noticed the absence of any medical equipment and expressed their concerns on social media.
In a press conference at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Brink spoke about her injury and future. Prior to her injury, the former Stanford Cardinal standout had played in 15 games, averaging 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game. She ranked second in the WNBA for blocks and was a strong contender for Defensive Player of the Year.
