Delta variant is ‘totally unforgiving’: Young

Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young says the outbreak is escalating and the Delta variant is “totally unforgiving”.

“I need people in the 11 LGAS who are under the stay-at-home order to do just that, to stay at home, so we are mobilising support for people,” she said.

Dr Young said it was vital those in quarantine “absolutely adhere” to the orders and not to leave except to get tested or in case of emergency.

“The Delta virus, the variant of the virus totally unforgiving, it really and truly spreads so rapidly.”
