Map for Telethon Family Festival revealed

The map for the Telethon Family Festival has been revealed — and it’s bigger and better than ever.

On October 17, Optus Stadium will transform into a fiesta of fun, as the much-anticipated event runs for the second year in a row.

Inside the stadium, attendees will be wowed by amazing live entertainment on the Winning Appliances Community Stage.

Outside, the stadium precinct will be filled with activities, rides, and games. Kids can burn off energy in the HBF active zone — complete with a DJ and photobooth — or check out the petting zoo, circus, and silent disco. Thrill-seekers can visit the Kids carnival rides and dodgems, while families can learn about the spirit of Telethon by walking the APM charity trail.

Work up an appetite? No problem — head to the Coles Sausage Sizzle or the food trucks to refuel.

Last year’s inaugural carnival was a massive hit, with about 25,000 West Aussies flocking to the stadium. But organisers have promised that the 2021 festival will be even better thanks to generous sponsorship from Coles, HBF, Winning Appliances, APM and Early Start Learning.

Speaking to the West last month, Telethon Chairman Richard Goyder urged West Aussies to visit the stadium for an unforgettable day.

“Last year’s Telethon Family Festival was created out of a need to bring the WA community together after a challenging year,” he said.

“The positivity, fun and generosity that resulted is something we want to continue for years to come and this year we will broadcast the accessible and inclusive event live on channel 7 on the Sunday.

The day will give dance and music groups a “once-in-a-lifetime” chance to perform in the world-class stadium, the Chairman said, while charities will have the opportunity to showcase what they do.

Mr Goyder urged West Australians to dig deep.

“Whether it’s medical research, services or equipment, the positive impact we can make on the lives of those doing it tough as a WA community is huge,” he said.

The Telethon Family Festival will run from 10am-4pm. It’s ticketed, but will be free for children 16 and under.

Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster.
