The Wildlife Conservation Society issued an official statement, revealing that Flaco was discovered on the ground, prompting the building residents to contact the Wild Bird Fund, which confirmed the owl’s demise. The necropsy report unveiled that the 4.1-pound bird had suffered significant hemorrhage under the sternum and in the body cavity around the liver.
