The Halloween Event of 2023 has arrived, and it’s more ghostly than ever! Within the game, you’ll discover how to score yourself this year’s exclusive spooky ID card badge and a coveted trophy. These spooktacular rewards will be up for grabs for a limited time – about two weeks. So, act fast if you want to flaunt your ghostly achievements!
Even newbies to the ghost-hunting scene are in for a treat. The Maple and Prison maps have been temporarily unlocked at level 1, giving rookie investigators a chance to join in on the Halloween fun.
Ghostly Gameplay Tweaks
Maple Lodge Campsite has undergone a massive makeover. It now boasts a brand-new reception building, two separate campsite areas, fresh assets, additional hiding spots, and performance improvements. It’s like a ghostly makeover show, but for campsites.
And what’s camping without some rain sounds? Phasmophobia now delivers the soothing sounds of rainfall when you’re nestled inside your tent, in the toilet block, or safely under a draped tarp. It’s almost like camping in the middle of a horror movie!
To make the game look even spookier without bogging down your PC, there’s a new Temporal Anti-Aliasing option. This feature amps up the graphics without giving your computer a ghostly overload.
Ghoulishly Small Changes
The fine folks at Kinetic Games have also given the main menu and contract selection screens a bit of a facelift. Expect to see some fresh icons there, but don’t worry; they won’t jump out at you – they’re just icons.
No more ghostly parlor tricks of lighting objects with the ‘Interact’ button (typically Mouse 1). You’ll have to rely on more conventional methods for illumination from now on.

Fingerprints have decided to be more discreet when there’s no UV evidence around. And the Crucifix T2 should be more consistent in delivering both “interaction” and “burned crucifix” photos. That’s one reliable crucifix!
The haunted mirror has learned some manners as well. It won’t blip on parabolic microphones or sound sensors unless it’s being held or used. It’s the ghostly equivalent of knocking before entering.
Phasmophobia’s Maple Lodge Campsite Makeover: New Layout and Improved Performance
Camp Woodwind’s entrance gate no longer thinks it’s at Maple Lodge campsite, so there’s no more identity mix-up. The video camera won’t break down if you decide to swap it into your inventory while the CCTV is on its last camera – it’s learned some self-control.
Lighters have figured out not to light candles, firelights, and the campfire when they’re not in the mood. Summoning circle photos won’t photobomb your collection quite as often, and foggy weather won’t play hide and seek anymore. It now shows up correctly in future games.
Ghostly Gameplay Enhancements: Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA) in Phasmophobia
This update also ushers in numerous performance improvements, especially in the multiplayer mode and within the truck. And no more teleporting equipment when you place it on the wall in Sunny Meadows.
Last but not least, bone photos have promised to work more reliably, and Firelight T2 now lives up to its promise of lasting for a full 5 minutes instead of just 3. That’s one bright development!
