“Madmac: The Hypercar Drift Project Set to Shake Up the Automotive World”

Some cars are inherently better suited for Hypercar Drift drifting than others, and the notion of seeing a hypercar on a drift course might seem improbable. However, that’s precisely the spectacle planned by a group of enthusiasts in Britain for the upcoming summer. What sets this hypercar apart is not just its presence on the drift circuit, but its claim to be the most extreme of its kind, as proclaimed by its collaborators: Lazante, Mad Mike Whiddett, and O’Gara Coach.

Lazante is a familiar name to many, known for its expertise in restoring classic cars and its particular affinity for McLarens. Mad Mike Whiddett, on the other hand, is a drifting luminary hailing from New Zealand, renowned for his prowess behind the wheel of Mazdas and even a Lamborghini. Lastly, O’Gara Coach is a luxury car dealership based in Beverly Hills, California.

Pooling their talents, these three entities have joined forces to bring forth what promises to be one of the hottest automotive offerings of the summer – the Madmac. But what exactly is this vehicle?

At its core, the Madmac is based on the McLaren P1 GTR, a track-focused variant of the iconic hypercar. Straight from the factory, the P1 GTR boasts impressive credentials, being the first McLaren since the legendary F1 GTR to bear the esteemed GTR designation, earned through its track-oriented design and performance capabilities.

Equipped with a mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged V8 engine generating a staggering 986 horsepower, the P1 GTR also features a Formula 1-inspired drag reduction system and 19-inch motorsport alloy wheels.

Originally produced in extremely limited quantities – just 58 units – following the conclusion of its road-going counterpart’s production in 2015, the McLaren P1 GTR commanded a price tag exceeding $2.4 million per unit at its market debut.

While the fundamental mechanical components of the Madmac are expected to remain unchanged, a series of modifications are currently underway across various locations, including the UK and New Zealand. Although specific details regarding these alterations have yet to be disclosed, the collaborative trio has assured enthusiasts that further information will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.

The eagerly anticipated debut of the Madmac is slated for July at the prestigious 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Following its inaugural appearance, Mad Mike Whiddett hints at the hypercar’s globetrotting aspirations, suggesting that it will showcase its drifting prowess on tracks around the world. With anticipation building, enthusiasts eagerly await updates on this ambitious automotive project.
