The renowned chocolate company, famous for its delectable creme-filled chocolate eggs, recently concluded its sixth annual Cadbury Bunny Tryouts. Pet owners nationwide eagerly submitted photos of their beloved companions on social media, vying for the coveted title of the next Cadbury bunny.

March saw fans on Instagram engaging in a bracket-style competition, marking the contest’s first-ever social media rendition. Amongst 32 adorable contestants, including cats, dogs, horses, a donkey, and a goat, Louie the raccoon emerged victorious in the Cadbury Bunny Tryouts.

Hailing from Miami, Florida, Louie is a two-year-old raccoon rescued by his owner, Jaime Arslan, in 2021 after deemed unsuitable for the wild. As the grand prize recipient, Louie will receive $7,000 and take center stage in the 2025 Cadbury Bunny Tryouts commercial.

“Each year, we eagerly anticipate crowning a new Cadbury Bunny, and this year, we engaged fans in an innovative way through our bracket-style competition. It was heartwarming to witness pet lovers embracing the fun,” stated Natalie Shuntich, senior associate marketing manager at The Hershey Company.

The Hershey Company has held the rights to manufacture Cadbury chocolate in the US since 1988, discontinuing British-made Cadbury chocolate imports in 2015.

“The enthusiastic participation of fans in each round of voting, coupled with the affectionate support for our thirty-cute finalists from Cadbury enthusiasts across the U.S., underscores the fondness for the Cadbury brand,” Shuntich continued.

Louie the raccoon now joins the esteemed roster of past Cadbury Bunny Tryouts winners, including last year’s Crash the rescue cat, Annie Rose the therapy dog (2022), Betty the frog (2021), Lieutenant Dan the Treeing Walker Coonhound (2020), and Henri the English Bulldog (2019).

“We’re thrilled that Louie has been selected as this year’s Cadbury Bunny Tryouts winner. As longtime Cadbury brand enthusiasts, we are honored to witness Louie joining the esteemed legacy of incredible Cadbury Bunnies,” expressed Arslan, Louie’s owner. “Louie’s television debut in Cadbury’s 2025 commercial can’t come soon enough!”
